I worked with a robot engineer who was very knowledgeable and taught me the ins and outs of industrial robots. He trusted me to run a whole cell with two ABB robots on my own so I really enjoyed that.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have been able to start earlier in the summer because I felt like the action was just starting to pick up as I was leaving to go to school. I also wish there was a little bit more structure to the engineering internship program, and I wish there were a couple more interns. However, I was the guinea pig for the internship program so relatively speaking it went well.
Advice
Always ask what you can do to help or what projects you can start. Ask how things work. Do not worry about being that annoying intern. If the employers are good employers they want you to ask questions because they were you not too long ago and it means you care and want to improve.

What I liked
I really enjoyed the teamwork of the IT team as a whole. They were extremely friendly and helpful from the very start, which I greatly appreciated. It was actually my first ever "official" job I had ever worked and I can confidently say that I am quite happy with my experience. I was constantly reassured that if I forgot how to do something then just ask, which I GREATLY appreciated. From the whole interview process, to me getting hired, to me finishing the internship was extremely smooth, which I also appreciated. Altogether I really enjoyed my time there and am glad I met the people I did.
What I wish was different
Nothing, it was honestly an amazing opportunity.
Advice
Communication is key! I believe my team and I did so well because of our communication, which I strongly encourage others to do as well.
